Posting from March 30, 2017:
A Park Watch Reporter spoke with a Ranger at Cronan Ranch yesterday regarding the sheep and goat herds that will be grazing there for brush control. The Ranger said they will be bringing them in early April even thought the posted sign says June through September. If you are a dog walker or equestrian, you may want to check back here for herd location updates.
The sheep are rotated once a week by a contractor so it may be difficult for the Forest Service or other land managers to get the exact dates out to the public. So, please email Mother Lode Trails when you see contracted sheep or goat herds on any public lands and trails and the Alerts will be posted here.
