As part of Nature Quest, Placer Land Trust’s Community Council volunteers will host a fun and engaging free community event outdoors on a preserve each month. Additional themed, self-guided activities will be released each month via social media, inspiring participants to enjoy public trails and recreation areas on their own time and schedule.

Each experience is designed to deepen connections with nature while showcasing Placer Land Trust’s mission to preserve open spaces and agricultural lands for generations to come.
Nature Quest participants can earn entries for prizes, including Placer Land Trust merchandise, gift certificates to local businesses and more.

The Nature Quest Launch Party kicks off the series on Saturday, Jan. 18 from 1-3 p.m. at the Auburn School Park Preserve and the Placer Land Trust office in Downtown Auburn. Activities for all ages will include a hosted interpretive walk and music at the Preserve, and nature journaling and refreshments at the office. Riding your bike to the event is encouraged, and valet bike parking at the Preserve will be provided by the Auburn Trails Alliance.

Other events include:
Feb. 22, 2-4 p.m. – Forest Bathing at Canyon View Preserve, 13760 Lincoln Way in Auburn. Explore the outdoors in new ways via nature immersion techniques. Stroll the preserve and participate in “bathing” stations. Special station hosted by East Wind Yoga!
March 22, 9-11 a.m. – Games Day at Miner’s Ravine Preserve, Sierra College Blvd. near Miner’s Ravine Dr. Play a variety of fun outdoor games under the direction of Del Oro High School Club Project Earth! Refreshments provided. Note: The preserve is walkable/bikeable via the Miner’s Ravine Trail.
April 26, 2-4 p.m. – Wildflower Stroll at Canyon View Preserve, 13760 Lincoln Way in Auburn. Stroll the preserve and see how many wildflowers are blooming. Learn from CA Native Plant Society experts, and get your own wildflower seed packet to plant at home.
May 17, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. – BYO Picnic by the Creek! Bring your own picnic to enjoy by the creek at Taylor Ranch Preserve in North Auburn. Wander the preserve trails at your leisure. Special treats to be provided.

Nature Quest is proudly supported by Placer Land Trust’s volunteer Community Council, a group dedicated to raising awareness and fostering support for the protection of the region’s cherished natural areas.
