In early 2017 there will be a number of meetings of “focus groups” to provide input from citizens and stakeholders on the new Ten-Year Master Plan for Parks and Trails within Placer County. Various organizations who are vitally interested in trails within Placer County need to provide one trails expert who is also qualified in long-range planning (with one designated alternate) to participate in upcoming meetings in Auburn.
Placer County Parks Administrator Andy Fisher has said that the new Master Plan will include consultations and coordination with Nevada County trails, trails within the Auburn State Recreation Area, and the U.S. Forest Service (Tahoe National Forest, American River Ranger District in Foresthill).
Hidden Falls Regional Park will increase from about 30 miles of trails (currently) to a potential of about 60 miles in the future.
Parking problems will be addressed.
Trails organizations need to nominate their qualified trails specialist to participate in the development of the Ten-Year Master Plan for Parks and Trails within Placer County.
