The NID Board of Directors took these actions:
"— reviewed environmental studies and authorized NID Recreation Manager Peggy Davidson to move forward on Phase II of the Scotts Flat Lake Trail, which will be constructed by the Forest Trails Alliance.
The first phase of the hiking and biking trail was built two years ago and runs from the Pioneer Trail near Highway 20 near the Five Mile House, to NID’s campgrounds at the lake.
Phase II includes three looped trails on the north side of the reservoir and a trail to Cascade Shores. Construction is planned in 2016."
The Scotts Flat area is just north of Nevada City on Highway 20, and will connect to the multi-use 25-mile Pioneer Trail. The Pioneer Trail took 31 years of work by the Gold Country Trails Council, an equestrian group. They celebrated its completion HERE.
