The water system at Dru Barner has not been available due to recurring water quality problems which required new infrastructure to resolve. Funding from the Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA) has made these and other improvements at Dru Barner possible. This week, contractors were prepping to set poles for the solar panels, and electrical conduit was installed. The goal is to have the project completed before Memorial Day weekend.
Dru Barner is a popular year-round campground in the Georgetown Ranger District that was designed for equestrians and is available by reservation on Recreation.gov. The Georgetown Divide Equestrian Trail Foundation is an active, dedicated partner that helps maintain the campground and nearby trails.
