We have had two Park Watch Reports to alert users of the Little Wolf Creek walking bridge that black ice is remaining on this bridge all day and is unsafe for horses, walkers and bikers. Be aware that the temperature may be well above freezing but the bridge retains unsafe ice regardless.
To access the bridge from Penn Gate staging, there is an unsigned trail to the left off the Hardrock Trail ranch road at the junction of the Osborn Hill Trail, just before Little Wolf Creek earthen dam crossing. That leads to this scenic walking bridge across Little Wolf Creek and returns to Hardrock Trail, bypassing a small section of the Hardrock Trail.
In this cold weather, the Little Wolf bridge can be covered with unseen black ice and is not safe to use.
