The Georgetown Divide Equestrian Trails Foundation has made the difficult decision to cancel this year's Dru Barner Fun Ride, which is typically held on Memorial Day Weekend. The cause is a combination of the damage to the campground due to bark beetle, winter storms and downed trees. Add to that the inability to re-grade the road and burn the wet slash piles in time.
Those who have mailed your ride entry and wish to receive a refund, the Foundation will return your money. But, if you would like to donate your entry toward the restoration of the park, it would be very appreciated. The Foundation is also asking for additional donations from anyone who would like to support the hiring of tractors, purchase of road rock, and possibly hiring Growlersburg to help with the heavy work.
