Third vehicle break in this week, today at Sterling Pointe Equestrian Staging. Nothing was stolen, either because there wasn't anything of value to the thief, or was scared off before anything was taken. This crime has been reported to Placer County Sheriff. So far, all break ins have tried to access the vehicle after smashing a front window.

In the past two weeks, there has been an increase of vehicle break ins at the trail heads. Since all the vehicles had smashed side windows, it may be the same person or groups of persons who are committing these crimes. It is important that you leave nothing visible or valuable in your vehicle for anyone to steal, especially in the glove box, as most had items taken from the glove boxes.
If you witness suspicious behavior or are a victim of a vehicle break in at a trail head, contact law enforcement immediately. It could be your information in your report that catches the thieves.
